I love McDonald's french fries. They are my all-time favorite and, in my humble opinion, beat all the other friers out there. However, given the fact that I work hard to keep my girlish figure, I can tell you I only eat there about once a month!

Imagine my surprise when I went in just yesterday and I won a breakfast meal and my husband won a McFlurrie! How? We got in on McDonald's Monopoly game! I guess I missed the start of it this year -- it started in early October and runs through November 12th or until all the game pieces are given out. Players collect game pieces that are available on certain food and drink items, in hopes of winning prizes ranging from free food to cash!

The game is based on the original Monopoly board game and features the properties and railroads of Atlantic City, New Jersey (before Donald Trump.) The goal is to collect properties and charge rents to drive your opponents into bankruptcy -- doesn't sound like much fun given the current economy -- but it is just a game!

This year the game pieces are on large fries (my personal favorite), Angus Burgers, Chicken McNuggets (both the 10 and 20 piece meals), any large drink including the McCafe drinks and hash browns.

But guess what? This year, thanks to the digital age, McDonald's Monoply is being played online! Players can enter game piece codes in Facebook and Twitter! The "to go" bags contain a Free Code that players can use to play online.

The director of marketing at McDonald's, Doug Freeland, says, "The Monopoly Game at McDonald's has become part of the pop culture that our customers love and anticipate each fall. This year is more exciting than ever, with customers getting the chance to win $1 million every day!"

Naturally, McDonald's hopes that by hosting the Monopoly game, customers will spend more to get more game pieces. Personally, I will double my visits to McDonald's this month to two -- I've got a free breakfast and I'm going to buy some hashbrowns. Who knows, I may even get the coveted Park Place!
