Seven Steps To Starting A Home Based Biz!

If you're looking for tips from other at home based business entrepreneurs that can give you a fresh perspective, you may be in the right place. Some tips I really like -- those are generally because I agree with them, but there are some tips I like just because I don't agree with them -- they make me think -- and I LOVE thinking! I found these tips just the other day and I like 'em because they're an awful lot like what we teach in our Weekly Business Coaching Success Program. They are good solid tips, and to implement them will require some sound thinking on your part.

Business experts are suggesting there are seven steps that you need to put in place beforeyour home based small business can be truly successful and past the stage of just having the ability to earn extra money from home. Here is the latest advice!

1. Know what you want. As Steven Covey says, "Start with the end in mind." Having a clear idea of your objective in starting a work from home company will help you decide what kind of business to start and how to run it.

2. Pick something you enjoy doing. This really makes a lot of sense, since if you're going to make your living from it, you'd better enjoy it. Much of the reward of top home based business entrepreneurship may consist of the pleasure you gain from it, not the money, so make sure you like the work you'll be engaged in.

3. Pick something you know. Some people call this "sticking to your knitting" -- it means staying with something you know how to do. If your top home business is related to a favorite hobby or professional sideline, you'll have an extra edge because of your background or expertise in the field.

4. Have a business plan. This is like having a road map on a long trip. Even a home based small business needs a full-size business plan. Be sure you're especially able to describe a viable business model for generating profits.

5. Be patient. In this case, patience is truly a virtue. If you can't work at your home based business full time, your business idea will take longer to get under way and grow to maturity.

6. Take care to separate your job, business and personal responsibilities. An at home based business can interfere with your work and family relationships if you let it -- make sure your family and friends sign up to support the effort you'll be expending as your work gets off the ground.

7. Have an exit plan. Decide in advance when and how you'll sell or otherwise get out of your work from home company. Otherwise, it could become a full-time burden. Decide early what you want from this business so you'll know when its right to walk away.
